To commemorate the anniversary of the 1940 Dunkirk evacuation of troops from the beaches during World War II, the Royal Maritime Museum, Greenwich commissioned the installation, ‘Little Ships’.

A series of 700 identical small boats on metal poles were created to remember the small boats that came to the soldier’s rescue.

To coincide with the launch of Dunkirk, the boats were fitted with LED lights for night time shots of the dramatic installation.
