Aldeburgh Museum, Suffolk

Aldeburgh Museum in Suffolk is an inspiring and progressive local museum that engages all ages with the rich heritage of Aldeburgh and its surroundings.

Following funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund in 2019, Aldeburgh undertook a comprehensive remodelling of the museum. Housed in the 16th Century Moot Hall, the exhibition space received a new layout and visitor orientation, new cabinets with more space for artefacts, digital displays, photography and film, improved lighting and metal external signage. The refurbishment has enhanced the visitor experience greatly while retaining its historic heritage.

As part of the refit, FFD replicated the pendants of the mayoral chain of office, recreated the ceremonial maces and made a detailed model of Moot Hall, all of which were central to the new exhibits at Aldeburgh.
